The Southern Region held a Solar Eclipse party.
No solar eclipse has been visible across the entire
contiguous United States since 1918. The O’Fallon
office had the closest to a total eclipse of any of
the current FGM offices, so why not celebrate
and view.

In September, the Southern Region held a late
summer event at the GCS Stadium watching the
Gateway Grizzles beat the Evansville Otters. In
November, Mike Staub was generous to allow the
Southern Region to plan a bonfire at his country
home outside of Millstadt, Illinois. There was a
pumpkin carving contest, bags and even late-
night walks into the woods (scary).

During the Christmas Holidays, both the Northern and Southern Regions had a Pot Luck feast in
December where good food and games were played. The Southern Region had an ugly sweater
competition where Maegan Mifflin won the ugliest sweater, Laura Severine won most creative
and John Ochoa won most festive (I think this was rigged). At this event, each region continued
in the tradition of a “White Elephant” gift exchange where very usable expensive gifts were
opened and enjoyed by all, including ingesting a high-quality STAG beer and receiving a classic
Holiday costume.
