Valley Hi
When my Dad was transferred from Germany to Kelly AFB my folks chose to live in a
new subdivision of small uniquely designed MCM homes called Valley Hi on the west
side of San Antonio, Texas. The community was marketed as the future for families of
the new atomic space age. Readjusting to stateside living proved difficult for me. It
became easier to believe spacemen would rescue me from my loneliness - that fantasy
grew into a lifelong obsession with space travel and Apollo missions of the 1970's.
