Let’s try the same composition practice with the completed white
practice collage page.
The example on the left is shifted down and to the right. The other
example is shifted up so that the bottom of the walnut ink marks show
and the image has white space on the right edge.
Look carefully - as usual, the differences are pretty easy to spot.
Again, for personal references, I like the one on the left (above)
just slightly better. Both arrangements work - however, the one on
the left seems more balanced because more of the stenciled letters
show at the top.
As it turned out, I ended up tearing the white sheet rather than
using it as a finished work - read on!
