The Ensign Fleet at Chelsea Yacht Club (CYC) enjoyed a competitive 2022
racing season, when the wind cooperated. Along with weekly Sunday races,
Fleet Captain Pete McConnell hosted the ECA Region 1 Championship Regatta
at Chelsea. Several generations of McConnell's raced in the National
Championship Regatta at Nyack Boat Club along with CYC members joining as
crew. Back at CYC, there were 7 Ensigns participating in Sunday races with
Bruce Alter joining with his new Ensign #636. The season had a challenge: a
surge of barnacles leveling the racing field towards the end of the season! The
overall 2022 Ensign trophy was presented to Brett Kolfrat in Glide #501.
