morning and Wednesday evening from late May through September was
active and had a lot of participation.

We had hoped more visiting boats would take advantage of our location
to participate in the Region V Championship a week prior to the National
Championship. Questar (#1226) from Fleet #28, Canandaigua, NY,
joined the regatta and sailed away with a clean sweep and the Region V
trophy.

Five boats from our fleet supported the North Coast Women’s Sailing
Association program. Chancer (#307 Melissa O’Leary) entered in the
JAM division and placed 3rd overall in her fleet. Four other boats, Blue
Meanie (#761 Sherrie Desmond), Sriracha (#947 Steve Wnuk), Sea III
(#3 Bob Conkey), and MBSS Medalla (#1556 Nick Lubar) were in the
“Prep” division training new sailors and less experienced sailors in the
basics of racing. NCWSA provided another chance to get people out
sailing on Ensigns and to promote the fleet. Many of our crew members,
and some of our skippers, are “graduates” of the NCWSA program.

Two boats from Fleet #29 participated in the Midwinter Regatta at the
Columbia Sailing Club: Sea III (#3) and Sriracha (#947). Seven boats
