1414. Franz was a co-owner of 588 with his brother George Dahmen and
        the two sailed together for most of their lives. Both Kelly and Franz loved
        sailing and the other members of the Ensign fleet and they are sorely
        missed. But we treasure the days we had with them and are committed
        to honoring their memories by making the most of the time we get to
        spend with our Ensign family and friends, both on the water and off.

        Once again, our short compact summer race season was filled with
        exciting activities and racing. We opened with The Rally in the Bay event
        for the second year. This is to encourage crews that are new to racing to
        enjoy a causal day testing their skills around the buoys. We offered
        another Ensign clinic to teach new sailors rigging skills and boat handling
        techniques.

        Fleet 31 one is unique in that we have two very active fleets; A-all sails
        and B-working jibs only. Both fleets are on the water every Saturday in
        July racing around the buoys or distant races throughout the islands. We
        end the season with our annual 3-day LCYC Regatta the first week of
