2023 was an exciting sailing season for Fleet
34. The fleet completed eleven races with an
average of five boats participating, two boats
enjoying the Mid-Winters at Lake Murray, SC;
four boats traveling to Buck’s Harbor, Maine to
participate in the Region II/III Championship;
and three boats competing in the National
Championship hosted by Pentwater, MI.

Robin Durrschmidt and crew sailing Ensign
#363 Magic were once again unstoppable. They
competed in nine races taking seven bullets and
two second place finishes. This is Robin’s fifth
consecutive Fleet 34 Season Championship. Gary Woodruff skippering
Tailgunner won the second place tiebreaker, edging out Mike Macina in
Firebird.

Fleet 34 is anxiously awaiting the return of Ward Woodruff to competitive
Ensign racing as this will raise the level of competition and add additional
pressure on Robin if he hopes to have an unprecedented 6th
championship.
