The short Spring Series known as the Chili Bowl and the Fall series
known as the Chowder Cup were both easily won
by Eric Jones in Teamwork. In the Chili Bowl,
Friendship finished second and Triton was third.
Triton also finished second in the Chowder Cup
while Swoose was third.

In 2022, the club’s June invitational regatta, The Cal
Brouwer Memorial, was cancelled due to lack of
interest. There was a substantial Ensign Fleet
signed up, but the PHRF boats did not show, and

the event was cancelled to prevent a financial loss.
The September Commodore’s Trophy Race was
won by Robin Durrschmidt in Magic - 363 from fleet 73. Eric Jones,
sailing Teamwork – 319, was second and Swoose was third.

Teamwork and Swoose traveled to Maine for the 2023 Region II/III
Championship Regatta. This was a very enjoyable event. Every
participant had a terrific time. The hospitality, food and sailing in this
regatta were first rate! The regatta has been documented in the Fall
Ensign Class Newsletter and on the Website, but it is still worth
mentioning here.

In upcoming events, Ensign Fleets 73 will be hosting Ensign Nationals
this August in nearby Niantic Bay. Hope to see you there.
