Skipper’s Night, our club’s annual awards night, was thankfully moved
back to the Fall and the 2023 racing results are as follows. Gabe Stern
came back strongly during the second half of the season to defeat Jim
Anderson and Russ Carr. All three of the top boats benefited from
absences of competitive boats Teamwork, Friendship and Chikain during
various stretches of the season due to job or family commitments.

Regardless, participation during the 2023 season was a year-over-year
improvement compared to 2022. Nine of the fleet’s twelve Ensigns
participated in multiple races during 2023. Five of the participating
boats, Swoose, Teamwork, Sam, Friendship and Triton, won multiple
races. Better still, Fleet 57 is expecting to grow by at least one more
boat in 2024!
