Ensign Fleet held its 44 Annual Meeting via Zoom on Saturday, March
9th, and our Annual Potluck Dinner Party will be held on Saturday, April
th
27 at the Nyack Boat Club
Clubhouse. On the Zoom call, our
nomination group, led by Jack Allen
and Michael Thompson, put forth
nominations for Peter von Bradsky
as Fleet Captain and Janine
Luppino as incoming Fleet
Treasurer. Both Peter and Janine
will provide growth & stability to the
fleet. After nearly ten years as Fleet
Captain, Rick Feldman finally
embraced term limits and
conducted a smooth transition of Photo of # 1469 Physalia on her
power. Fleet 51 would like to thank maiden voyage at the Nyack Boat Club
Rick for his many years of on August 6th, 2023. This followed
leadership and guidance as our many years of restoration by owners,
Captain in addition to running the Jim and Rose Aquavia.

Our very own Zack Zakarian Award for fleet service was presented by
Frank Neeson to Chris West for his many years of unparalleled fleet
service. A little background: in 1999, the Fleet established the Zack
Zakarian trophy, a permanent trophy awarded for outstanding service to
the fleet. The award is named for Zack Zakarian, a founding member of
our Ensign Fleet, a former Fleet Captain, Fleet Champion and NBC
Commodore. Over the years, the award has gone to Ron Hoffman
(1999), Henry Ridder (2000), Paul Shein (2003), Harriett Hoffman
(2007), Cheryl Watson & Steve Keosterer (2014), Bob Shoemaker
(2015), Frank Neeson (2016), Rick Feldman (2017), Jon Simpson
(2018), Fran Schept (2021), and Miriam Sorkin (2022).

Also of note during our meeting, special thanks go to our very own Fran
Schept who handled recording minutes, and our outgoing Fleet
Treasurer, Charles McGillick who provided fleet financial details. We also
welcomed our newest members of the fleet, Mitch & Terri Kayden, who
are purchasing Easy Street. You may be interested to know that their
