and chill in the refrigerator until ready to use. Reserve 2 tablespoons

                of the bacon fat.

                3 Dice the onion and add to the pot, along with the bacon fat, garlic,

                salt, pepper, and chicken stock. Stir to combine.


                4 Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and
                simmer for 4 hours, stirring every 10 minutes, until beans are soft

                and most of the liquid has evaporated. Remove from heat. Stir in
                whiskey, maple syrup, parsley, and bacon bits.



                Serve to your fellow explorers as you take a break from blazing new trails in the Alaskan
                wilderness!



                   Note: In this recipe, the beans need to soak for 8 hours before

                   cooking and simmer for 4 hours.
