Stabilize Thanks to the Home on the Range campaign, the Jackson
Hole Housing Fund, and annual housing donors, GTMF
has free access to a significant number of rooms each
Housing Costs summer. But this free housing accommodates less than
half of the Festival Orchestra musicians and seasonal
staff that require housing. The Festival rents the rest of
its housing on the increasingly volatile (and expensive)
short-term market.
Over the past 15 years, the average cost per room
has nearly tripled, and now housing costs have
ballooned to 20% of GTMF’s annual budget. This
is unsustainable and represents a considerable threat to
the Festival’s musician experience and programming.
