Learning for Life
The children will see the need for defence in the Roman Empire but also for us
as Christians as we defend ourselves against our enemy. In later lessons on the
Roman army and armour this will be further developed.

To compare Roman and modern towns.
Way to Work
1. Review the previous lessons.
2. Divide the children into twos or threes to read through the first
worksheet.
3. Gather back to further consolidate the information through questions and
answers.
Talk and show pictures or a DVD/video of Roman baths, amphitheatres,
etc.
4. Compare a modern town with a Roman town.
