Page 18 - FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFE; EXPLORING GOD’S UNIVERSE
P. 18
God is a pioneering God with fresh inspiration and plans for his people.
God calls us to be pioneers too with new ideas and creativity.
The Holy Spirit is our enabler whether it is to help us achieve something for the first time for
us, or even for our community.
Way to Work (Means)
1. Review the project and seek to establish what the pupils have learnt from it.
2. Talk about the children being the pioneers of the future. Look at their displays/files of their
own lives and ask each one to share if there is anything they would like to do in their lives
which would overcome something they have struggled with or something that would have an
impact on society. It could be something they wish to do for the first time.
3. Tell the children the story of Thomas Edison who struggled at school so much that his
teacher gave up on him. His mother, however, believed in him and began to home-school him.
She encouraged him all the time. Thomas eventually became an inventor and held over 1,000
patents. He, with another man named Swan, invented the light bulb.
4. God has plans for each one of us and he can use our God-given gifts to bless others and to
enable us to do exploits for him. We need the Holy Spirit’s help. Remind the children of William
Carey’s words:-
‘Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God.’
5. Give time for the children to pray and consider dreams they have and to write them
down. Some children may like to share them, others may not.
6. Give the children time to finish any work not completed from the project.
7. End with a praise and prayer time asking God to use each child with their different gifts to
make a difference in the world.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. Hopefully, the children will have gained faith to expect great things from God as they
surrender their lives to him.
2. They should have a greater understanding of what makes a pioneer and the effect one life
can have on many others.
