GEOGRAPHY
The Geography curriculum must begin with God as the Creator of the Universe. He is sovereign over
it, yet he gives Man the mandate to rule over the earth. God has a place in his heart for every nation
and his desire is that we carry his vision. He commissions us to go into every nation to make disciples.
As God builds his Kingdom across the earth to include all nations, we must educate the children to
make them aware of different cultures, governments, ways of life and forms of worship.
In teaching Geography the following should be borne in mind: -
a) God is the Creator of the Universe
Genesis 1 Nehemiah 9:6
b) God is sovereign over his creation.
Leviticus 26:4-6 Psalm 107:23-31
c) Natural resources belong to God.
Exodus 19:5 Psalm 24:1
d) We are to be stewards of the earth, caring for it responsibly.
Psalm 8:6 Genesis 2:15
e) God’s desire was that Man should spread across the earth.
Genesis 1:28 Genesis 9:1
f) God used nations and languages to keep Man scattered.
Genesis 10 Genesis 11:1-9
g) God gave land to tribes and nations.
Joshua 1:2-5 Numbers 34:1-28
