Prayer: Pray that people would worship God alone.

Pray that people will resist temptation to worship idols.

6. For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever, Amen

Prayer: Pray that nations will bow down and worship God alone.

Pray that nations will bring glory to God by their response to him.

GOD’S HEART FOR THE NATIONS

Truth to Teach

God’s heart is for all mankind to know him as Lord and Saviour.

Habakkuk 2:14 ‘For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,
as the waters cover the sea.’

God so loved the world that he was willing to send his Son to save mankind.

John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’

Way to Work

1. Show the children a world map and / or a globe and ask them why they think that God
created it and what his heart is for the people who inhabit it - Hab 2:14

2. Remind the children of the story of Adam and Eve and God’s desire for a family.

Discuss briefly what went wrong and how God overcame Satan’s plans to control the
world by sending his Son – John 3:16.

3. Read the story of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11:1-9, explaining man’s desire to

rule. Talk about people who have risen up over the years seeking to rule wrongly
over others, eg Hitler, Communist rulers.

4. Outline the lies which Satan sows into the hearts of men:

a) Man is in charge of his own destiny
