3. Read a summary of the story in Exodus 12 and explain why the Jews
celebrate it and not communion as we do (They do not accept Jesus as the
Messiah.)
4. Read the verses in Matthew 26:26-28 and explain the reason why we have
communion.
In Jesus’ time there would have been three main festivals:-
• Feast of Passover (spring-time)
• Feast of Weeks (summer-time)
• Feast of Tabernacles (autumn-time)
5. Let the children experience the Jewish Passover and share about the
differences to the Communion service we know as Christians.
6. A clip of the film ‘The Prince of Egypt’ could be shown and/or the children
could complete the worksheet.
