          Commas are used to: -

        Put commas in this passage.

        The sports trainer,   Mr Betts, made me do press-ups,   jogging,   jumping

        and weight-lifting.  He said, “Come on, Jack, lift those knees up when you

        are jogging.”  “I am doing my best, Mr Betts,”  I answered politely.   “When we are at sports


        training, Jack, you can call me Tom,” said Mr Betts.  We all worked well together, despite

        being tired.  When Saturday came, we were all ready for the match at Twickenham, in

        London, where all important matches are played. Amazingly, we won so all our training was


        worthwhile.

        Add commas to these sentences to make the meaning clear.

        1.  My aunty, Jane, is a netball trainer. (Speaking to Jane)

        2.  I planned for you to go with Steve, James. (James is to go with Steve.)

        3.  Children, who are naughty, should be disciplined. (Only some children are naughty.)

        4.  For morning coffee, cakes and biscuits were made. (Cakes and biscuits were served

        Write sentences with the following to show the use of commas: -

        a)  A list of days of the week.
