                                         CHILDREN’S PERSONAL PROJECTS

        Truth to Teach (Source)

 To give the children opportunity to conduct research on their own or in twos.

 To encourage the children to use a wide range of methods in conducting research, including drawings, tables,
                   labelled diagrams, graphs, ICT, etc.

 To give guidance on how to present research to the class.

 To give opportunity to the pupils to review their own work and that of others.

        Way to Work (Means)

               1. Review the subject of the previous lessons and list the topics from which the pupils may select their topic for
               further research.

                          • Cells in the body
                          • Muscles and Bones
                          • Nervous System
                          • Brain
                          • Heart
                          • Circulatory system
                          • Blood

               2. Let the children decide if they are going to work alone or in twos to prepare a presentation to show the class in
               Lesson 12.

               3. Talk about the different ways in which the work can be shown, e.g. through a talk, interview, drama, song, quiz,
models, etc. Everyone should also produce a small wall display of some kind with pictures and writing/typing. Talk
about cutting paper carefully, backing work, use of coloured paper, neat work, etc.

               4. Let the children divide into their groups to consider resources they will need and how the final presentation will
look. Let them allocate tasks according to their gifting.

               5. Remind the children of the aims of the project to bring understanding leading to wonder, worship and wisdom.

               6. Pray for the children for inspiration then release them to start work reminding them that they have three
lessons, and perhaps some homework sessions, to complete it. In Lesson 12, everyone will view the others and give
               helpful comments and encouragement.

               7. From time to time the teacher should draw the pupils’ attention to good ideas and work amongst the groups.
Help should be given to groups which are struggling to get started.

        Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

The children should extend their knowledge of their chosen topic and gain more experience in gathering information from a
variety of sources and in presenting it to an audience of their peers.
