CHILDREN’S PERSONAL PROJECTS
Truth to Teach (Source)
To give the children opportunity to conduct research on their own or in twos.
To encourage the children to use a wide range of methods in conducting research, including drawings, tables,
labelled diagrams, graphs, ICT, etc.
To give guidance on how to present research to the class.
To give opportunity to the pupils to review their own work and that of others.
Way to Work (Means)
1. Review the subject of the previous lessons and list the topics from which the pupils may select their topic for
further research.
• Lungs and respiratory system
• Digestive system
• Teeth
• Hair
• Nails
• Five senses
• Health
• Any other subject to do with the human body not covered in the project (not reproduction)
2. Remind the children of the strengths and weaknesses of their last topics and encourage them to spend time
planning their work. Provide paper, books and other resources for the children to use.
3. Give the time scale for the project depending on the length of the term and time available. In week 22 the
work should be shared with the rest of the class.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
The children should extend their knowledge of their chosen topic and gain more experience in gathering information from a
variety of sources and in presenting it to an audience of their peers.
