6. There is a sense in which all people are alike; they will always make the same mistakes and need to
learn that God’s unchanging ways are best and it is wisdom to follow him.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children will have encountered a parable set in an imaginary world.
2. They will begin to see that God’s Kingdom ways are relevant to people of all times and places.
3. They will begin to appreciate that God can enable us to live righteously and stand up for the
principles of the Kingdom of God.
ANOTHER PARABLE
Max Lucado has written a parable called ‘Because I love you’ (ISBN 0-89107-992-0) – about God’s whole-hearted,
undeserved love for us. This is a parable set in imaginary place, but it contains truths about God and living as his
children.
Possible questions to ask:
Who is Shaddai (or Eli) like in this parable?
How is God represented or described?
How might God want us to respond in faith to this parable?
Alternatively, another Biblical parable could be chosen, e.g. The Good Samaritan.
Encourage the children that maybe one day some of them will be writers, skilled at communicating truth about God
and what pleases him through parables or stories with truths in them.
