Enjoying Words
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children will have been introduced to the concept of rhyming words, and have become
acquainted with a variety of rhymes, written for a variety of purposes.
2. The children should begin to understand that God brings particular people together in satisfying
relationships.
3. The children should grow in appreciation of their friends.
4. They should appreciate the use of parables to teach us lessons.
5. The children should be increasingly able to distinguish true stories from stories containing truths.
6. They should have a greater desire to be more skilled at communicating truth.
7. It is hoped that they will have a greater understanding of the Christmas story.

Review the identification of sentences.
Review capital letters and full stops
Review and extend understanding of naming words / nouns
Review use of ‘a’ and ‘an’
Review describing words which stand alongside naming words and serve by giving detail about
particular people, places, creatures or things.
Way to Work (Means)
Grammar and punctuation are taught through weekly lessons lasting about 45 – 60 minutes. Principles learnt in
these lessons are reinforced in writing lessons and in other subjects on the timetable.
