        Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

            1. The children should be more confident in identifying a sentence and in using capital letters and full
                 stops.

            2. They should have a greater understanding of naming words/nouns.

            3. They should have reviewed the vowels and reinforced Y1 teaching on the use of ‘a’ and ‘an’.

            4. The children should be better equipped to recognise and use describing words.

            5. Hopefully, the children will want to respond to God, who has conceived and put such variety in his
creation, both in outward appearance and in inner character.

These are suggestions for writing activities but some teachers may wish to link writing to the term’s project or
        topical events.

        Autumn Term Part 1

Week 1 - Having fun with rhymes

Love: God loves to hear his children laugh! Heaven is a place where there is no crying. The children need to
think of a word which rhymes with the creature, and then construct a sentence, which ends in that word. For
some it will be enough for them to think of a simple ending to the sentence, e.g.

                         A long- haired cat
                         Sat on a mat
