P. 12
Rob / PJI
• Rob updated that schools are operating online – likely until next year. COVID situation is not great,
yet it is also a busy time for PJI.
• There was a recent SAMSUNG event with lots of media coverage. PJI is wondering how to proceed
on planning with Samsung for next year. Monique gave an update regarding SAMSUNG. Adrian
added that they are relying on local SAMSUNG offices for input regarding next year’s program and
suggested reaching out to local SAMSUNG office and keeping the ROC in the loop.
• Rob mentioned that there have been lots of interests from large insurance companies including
Alliance, Zurich, and Prudential.
• A question was raised about how to balance the requests of PF local and regional offices
respectively. They are coming with different requests for varying dollar amounts. Maziar
responded that following a conversation with Marc Fancy (PF), they, like JA, are a highly
autonomous organization and empowered at a local level, and Rob should pursue opportunities
as he sees fit while keeping ROC apprised.
• Rob mentioned an upcoming meeting with some of his board and Ng Boon Heon, CEO of Temasek
Foundation from Singapore, and mentioned a recent introduction to an NGO from the
Netherlands
• Rob mentioned a conversation a while back from Deloitte but has not heard back.
Shanthi / Malaysia
• Shanthi talked about the recent JA global town hall and how impressive it was. She asked about
a virtual fair – something she heard was recently done in JA Europe. She would like to find out
more about how this was done. There may be an opportunity to extend the Company Program
into areas where a face-to-face program is not usually possible. Adrian to help follow up with
relevant information. Maziar mentioned there may be an opportunity for fundraising around this.
• Adrian added: The virtual fair that JA Europe and JA Italy used was Coderblock:

• Shanthi noted that our LMS, Cross Knowledge, is not cheap nor the easiest to use, and is keen to
find out if there is a regional conversation or strategy for a better LMS solution as it will be
increasingly critical for program delivery going forward
• There are concerns around material being stuck on Cross Knowledge and being tied to paying
US$10,000 for access
• Adrian noted that JA USA pivoted early to a hybrid model and costing to allow access to other JA
members.
• Vivian from Hong Kong asked if all the material can be accessed after paying the US$10,000 (for 2
years). It was answered that “yes” it can.
• Monique noted that there costing models can vary greatly (lump sum vs. per user) and that
members should be mindful of these varying models as they explore options.
• Maziar to ask for more input and guidance from JAWW on LMS global / regional strategy. Maziar
also mentioned that Gnowbe and CloudSwyft are potential partners that we are exploring.
Dinu / India
• Dinu mentioned that COVID is spreading in India and not under control.
• It is confirmed that one JA India team member was affected but on the road to recovery
• Schools and universities remain closed. Everyone is working virtually
