What role does informal sport and recreation play in the Pacific?
How active should you be?
To stay healthy and happy, you should try to be active and do 1 hour of
moderately intense activity each day.
This means doing an activity that:
• makes you warm
• makes you breathe heavier than usual.
More energetic activity than this is fine as long as you feel okay and are still able to
talk while you are exercising. If you cannot talk while being active, you are probably
working too hard.
Getting active helps fitness by:
• helping young bodies grow
• keeping your body healthy
• helping to prevent you from getting hurt when you play sport
• helping you to lead a longer, more enjoyable life.
