National and regional federations


                  National and regional federations have the responsibility for managing all aspects
                  of their sport in their country of origin. Common roles and responsibilities of
                  national federations are outlined below.


                  Management
                  •  Growth.
                  •  Administration.
                  •  Human resources, marketing.
                  •  Business performance:
                      –  reviewing outcomes of strategic plans
                      –  financial management — monitoring and reviewing expenditure and income
                      –  monitoring participant numbers, facility management, etc.
                      –  developing and monitoring accountability systems.

                  •  Coaching and umpiring.
                  •  Selecting juniors.
                  •  Females in sport.
                  •  Education.
                  •  Accreditation.


                  Operations
                  •  Volunteer programs.
                  •  Customer relations.
                  •  Risk management.
