Local leaders
Each OSEP country will have different local systems and customs for delivering
sport. In some cases, local tribal and/or religious leaders play a very important role
in delivering sport. Their role often includes:
• providing land to build sporting facilities
• recruiting players and members
• deciding whether or not a particular sport is introduced in a village or
community.
