Which of the IOC commissions relate most to your involvement and interest in
sport as an administrator?

National and regional Olympic and Paralympic Committees

The NOCs meet at least once every 2 years as the Association of National
Olympic Committees (ANOC) to exchange information and experiences to help
their role within the Olympic Movement. In this way, ANOC helps NOCs to prepare
for their meetings with the IOC Executive Board and Olympic Congresses.

ANOC also makes recommendations to the IOC about how to use the funds from
the television rights intended for the NOCs. These recommendations focus on
implementing the Olympic Solidarity programs.

The ANOC is currently made up of the 203 NOCs and is split among 5
continental/regional associations:
1. Africa: Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa
2. America: Pan American Sports Organisation
3. Asia: Olympic Council of Asia
4. Europe: European Olympic Committees
5. Oceania: Oceania National Olympic Committees.

Oceania National Olympic Committee (ONOC)
The ONOC is the regional association that covers the Pacific region. Its 17
member countries are:
1. American Samoa National Olympic Committee
2. Australian Olympic Committee
3. Cook Islands National Olympic Committee
4. Federated States of Micronesia National Olympic Committee
5. Fiji Sports and National Olympic Committee
6. Guam National Olympic Committee
7. Kiribati National Olympic Committee
8. Marshall Islands National Olympic Committee
9. National Olympic Committee of the Solomon Islands
10. Nauru National Olympic Committee
11. New Zealand Olympic Committee
12. Palau National Olympic Committee
13. Papua New Guinea National Olympic Committee
14. Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee
15. Tonga Amateur Sports Association and National Olympic Committee
16. Tuvalu Amateur Sports and National Olympic Committee
17. Vanuatu Amateur Sports Association and National Olympic Committee.
