Questioning

Appropriately formed questions can do a number of things such as:

 Re-focus participants who seem to be losing interest - though it is important
not to embarrass or isolate the person.

 Invite participants to search inside themselves for information they may not
                        have known they had

 Encourage group discussion and opinions
 Uncover previous experiences that may be helpful to other participants

               Questioning Skills
The more skilled the facilitator is at asking questions (and then listening to the answers)
the more easily they will be able to manage the training effectively.

Questions can be used in training for any of the following reasons:

 To find out the learner’s existing knowledge and experience in a training topic
 To check learner recall and/or retention of material

 To find out any specific learning needs or preferences a learner may have

                    To stimulate interest

                    To stimulate discussion

 To manage a conflict of inappropriate behaviour

                    And much more…
