                  Marketing and public relations
                  In this module we will cover:
                  •  public relations for clubs/federations
                  •  general marketing information
                  •  sponsorship proposals.
                  Public relations for clubs/federations
                  Public relations is a fancy way of saying ‘how we start and continue a mutual
                  understanding with our people’. In this case ‘our people’ includes:
                  •  members
                  •  parents
                  •  sponsors
                  •  clubs/federations
                  •  coaches
                  •  officials
                  •  government agencies
                  •  schools
                  •  the media, etc.
                  Sporting clubs/federations cannot operate well without good relationships with
                  ‘their people’, or their stakeholders.
                  Planning ahead in marketing and public relations is important if your club/
                  federation is to succeed.  As sporting clubs/federations are operating in a
                  competitive environment, it is more important than ever that they think about:
                  •  the people and groups they interact with
                  •  how they interact with them
                  •  how they market themselves.
