Introduction

The NSW Touch Association was the founding state organisation in
the sport of touch football, with the association being founded in 1980
in Sydney, Australia. The first touch football competition was held in
Sydney in 1978 and the state now boasts a playing membership of
over 160 000 registered players and over 150 000 students playing
                        touch football at school.

The Northern NSW Touch Association was founded in 1985 and boasts
several competitions and over 4000 registered players. This is one of
the fastest growing touch football nurseries in the country and is also
producing many state and national junior and senior representatives.

The NSW and Northern NSW Touch Associations have extensive
experience in co-hosting major competitions, with the two bodies
managing all aspects of the annual NSW State Cup Tournament, held
in Port Macquarie since 1982. This event is the largest touch football
event in the world, with an average of over 400 teams competing in the
                        tournament over the week.

Although this event has proved, and continues to prove, a massive
success, the two associations are now looking to host and manage,
with the support of the Australian Touch Association, the sport’s
premier event, the National Touch League.

The venue chosen for the proposed hosting of the National Touch
League is Coffs Harbour. This central, warm and well-equipped location
will provide the perfect venue for the Australian Touch Association’s
                        showcase event.

Following is a detailed proposal outlining how the event would be a
great success and why Coffs Harbour is the ideal location. Thank you
for taking the time to assess the document and we look forward to
hearing from you soon so we can expand on the details found within.
