Event concept
Once you feel that the event is feasible, develop a basic event concept so that you
                  can start to plan.
                  • Bring the ideas together.
                  • Know the purpose of the function/event.
                  • Know the workplace protocols relevant to functions/events.
                  • What format will be used? When will the event be held?
                  • Who will be responsible for planning it?
                  • How will the function/event benefit the club/federation?
                  • What are the likely barriers to staging the function/event successfully?
                  • Draw up a timetable.

                           Activity 5.2

Who would you involve in developing the event concept?

                  Selecting sports/communities to host events
Clubs/federations will not always need to bid or be selected to host an event,
as many events are generated by the club/federation themselves, such as club
championships. However, many of you will be working with sporting organisations
that, at some point, will decide to bid for and conduct major events.
