Be the Rock Under the Stars

Samaritas Nation was out in purple and Under the Stars at the
first ever Be the Rock Under the Stars presented by Applied
Imaging, on September 21, 2020. Because of you and your
commitment to being a ripple of transformation, Samaritas raised
nearly $210,000! This event, unlike any other in West Michigan,
was chaired by Bing and Jean Goei, John and Sandy Lowery and
was co-chaired by Dave Shaffer and Renee Williams - our 2021
event chairs. Guests celebrated Samaritas Nation at the West
Michigan landmark Fifth Third Ballpark from the comfort of their
cars as if they were visiting the drive-in movie theater. Fun was had
by all and the evening was a smashing success! The funds raised
will go to support critical Samaritas Programs that have been
significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The evening, hosted by Maranda from WoodTV, featured a
thought provoking address from keynote speaker Fr. Robert
Sirico of the Acton Institute. Mission speakers, Latricia and
Robert Trice, were the highlight of the evening as they shared
their inspiring story of adopting two children amid the nationwide
lockdown due to the pandemic. They challenged the audience to
think outside the box, and make a bigger ripple in their own lives.

Additionally, guests enjoyed a classic car parade, and a delicious
barbecue dinner while dancing and singing along to favorite cover
band, Brena Band. Honored at the event with our annual awards
were Huntington Bank, UFP Industries, Kurt Reppart and
Andrew Blum.
