5. Process of Learning:
a) Entry Point - The theme is introduced to the students in a fun and engaging
way. This is the hook that will get them motivated to study the topic.
b) Knowledge Harvest - Students express what they already know about the
theme and what they want to know, allowing teachers to plan lessons
accordingly.
c) Explaining the Theme - Students and parents are told what to expect from
the unit to help them prepare for the future learning experiences.
d) Research Activities - Planned research activities are part of each unit. Students
work in different ways to find out information on their theme.
e) Recording Activities - Students get to present the information they have
learned in a wide variety of ways.
f) Exit Point - The learning from the unit is celebrated with a memorable
activity such as a field trip, exhibition day, or performance.
6. Assessment: Consists of Teacher Rubrics, Students Rubrics, and Learning
Advice.
