English Language Learning Areas and Curriculum Objectives for K2
Numeracy
Form numbers (1-20) in numerals.
Add and subtract small numbers (add with a sum of 10 or less and subtract
from 10 or less).
Recognize, order and count objects up to the number 30.
Put things in an order such as from small to big, from short to long, or ‘first’,
‘second’, ‘third’.
Indicate order in a sequence of events using ‘first’, ‘second’, ‘third’, ‘next’ and
‘last’.
Create repeated patterns using objects, words, drawings, symbols or actions.
Cognitive and Social Skills
Role play and use imagination to interpret characters.
Successfully complete more complex puzzles and participate in memory games.
Concentrate on a task for more than 10-15 minutes.
Share personal interests and opinions with peers and teachers.
Tell others about their needs, likes and dislikes, as well as emotions.
Recognize own mistakes and are willing to apologize when necessary.
Recognize what they are able to do and their own uniqueness (e.g. how they are
the same and/or different from their peers).
