THE LAW ASSAULT & SEXUAL OFFENCES
A person is guilty of common assault if they either inflict 6 months or
COMMON violence on another person – however slight this might be – or Level 3 fine
ASSAULT make that person think they are about to be attacked. (Sec 42 (£1000) or

Any person who assaults, resists, obstructs or impedes a police
