31 HANNASFIELD
HANNASFIELD
FOURS
FOURS
This year the Hanning-
field fours was won by
an all ladies team from
East Tilbury with Rams-
den Bellhouse the run-
ners-up.
This year no one
was sure if the event
was going to take place
as it was due to be
played at a time when
there was a lot of snow
and ice in the Essex
Winners Chris Crates, Eileen Smith-Allen, area.
Pat Goodchild and Pauline Childs In the end the or-
ganisers decided to go
ahead and only one team did not make it but the snow never stopped coming down all day.
In the end to make sure everyone could get home safety it was decided to call a halt to the
days play after everyone had played four games each.
At the end of the day the outright winners were East Tilbury (Pauline Childs, Chris
Crates, Eileen Smith-Allen & Pat Goodchild) who finished with eight points.
The runners–up was a close run thing with four teams finishing on six points West Han-
ningfield with a shots difference of plus 6, Woodlands plus 7 & Outwood Common 2 & Rams-
den Bellhouse 2 both finishing with plus 10 shots each.
To separate these two teams it then went down to highest shots scored & Ramsden
(Sylvia, Tom & Tony
Ealham along with
Chris Lewell)
snatched it with 31
shots to Outwood
Commons 30
Shots.
A very big
thankyou is due to
the umpire Shirley
Walker and every-
one in the kitchen
who cooked a lunch
of Cottage Pie for Runners-up Chris Lewell, Tony, Sylvia & Tom Ealham
everyone. At the end
of the day a presentation was made to Debbie Cairns for all her hard work in helping out on
competition days which is greatly appreciated even more so as Debbie is not even a bowler.
