At the Quarter Final stages of the 2-bowl Singles , Dennis Peer-
less was in good form against Bernard Williams and won 7 - 2.
Chris Whyte found a very rich vein of form and whitewashed
Roy Atkinson 11 - 0. Brian Hall found Rodney Kendrick difficult
to handle and lost 9 - 3.Completing the round Colin Pike beat
John Mee 9 - 2.
In the semi-finals Colin was pushed a little harder by Denis
Peerless and cam from 5 - 6 to win 9 - 6. The other semi-final
was a very tight affair with Chris Whyte and Rodney Kendrick

with runner-up Colin Pike locked at 7 all going into the last end, where Chris Whyte

scored a vital single to progress to the final 8 - 7. Chris con-
tinued to play well and despite all the efforts of Colin Pike he could
not prevent Chris emerging as the champion 7 shots to 3.
In the Pairs Quarters Yvonne Crouch & Ken Langrish cruised
home 11- 5 over Tracy Miekle & Bill Kimberley. By A similar margin
(11 - 4), Jim & Joan Flin beat John & Patricia Mee. Jeanette Richards
& Rodney Kendrick eased through 9 - 6 over Chris & Margaret
Whyte.
By the same score Ros & Tony Ludbrook beat Terry & Jean
Bennett. Neither of the semi-finals were close with Ros & Tony Lud-
brook winning 13 - 3 over Yvonne Crouch & Ken Langrish, whilst Jim
& Joan Flin rattled home 11 - 2 over Jeanette Richards & Rodney
Kendrick. Jim & Joan kept up their form in the final beating Ros &
Tony Ludbrook 9 - 5.
In the triples quarter finals Robert Davies, Jeanette Richards
& Bernard Williams had a very tight game against Shirley College,

Also having an easier time, Joan Golding, Roy Atkinson
& Barbara Schultze beat Colin Pike, Denis & Linda Peer-
less 10 - 3.
In their semi-final Joan, Roy & Barbara went on the
beat Richard Davies, Rodney Kendrick. at one stage the
Welsh trio led 9 - 5 but back came Joan, Roy & Barbara
with a two and a three on the last end to snatch a 10 - 9
victory. This prevented an all welsh final as Robert
Davies, Jeanette Richards & Bernard Williams edged
home 9 - 4 over Julia Eason, Edward Bassant & Brian
Meadows.
In the final, up to the eighth of ten ends the match
was close with the Welsh trio of Robert Davies, Jeanette
