Gisela Gloge scored first and then followed up with two singles to
lead 3 - 0. Noeleen Tanner got into the match with a single but Gisela then scored two singles
to lead 5 - 1. Noeleen replied with two singles to cut the deficit but Gisela replied with a single
to lead 6 - 3 going into the last end. This left Noeleen needing a three for a draw or a full
house four for a win but either score would have broken the pattern of the match and Noeleen
duly scored a single to leave Gisela Gloge as the Ladies Crosshaven Singles Champion.
At the quarter final stage, N. Tanner – St. Vincent’s beat G. Stroker – B.E.D.A; J. O’Ri-
ordan – Watergrasshill beat Betty McCarthy – Douglas Community School whilst S. O’Leary
– Ballincollig GAA beat E. Fitzgerald –Youghal and G. Gloge – Beaufort beat M. Middleton -
Crosshaven. In the semi-finals Noeleen Tanner progressed with victory over Watergrasshill’s
Josie O’Riordan and Gisela Gloge beat Ballincollig GAA’s Shelia O’Leary.
