Diversity Outreach to the Law Schools, Colleges and Children

Suit Up for the Future High School Summer Legal Institute and Internship Program

The 10 Annual Suit Up for the Future High School Legal Institute and Internship Program was
held on June 13, 2022 – July 1, 2022. Fourteen students successfully completed the program.
The 2020 program was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Support to Minority Involvement Section

The Diversity Committee assists and supports the Minority Involvement Section in its activities.
The chair of the Minority Involvement is a member of the Diversity Committee’s Specialty Bars
subcommittee.

Specialty Bars Subcommittee

The Department supports and assists specialty bar associations. During the term of Past President
Mark A. Cunningham, he requested that each identified specialty bar leader accept appointment to
the Diversity Committee. Past President Cunningham’s goal was to convene at least one meeting
per year to engage these leaders and identify areas that the organizations need additional assistance
and support.

Specialty Bars Conference

The Specialty Bars Conference was held virtually on August 27, 2021.

Diverse Attorney Participation and Support Efforts

The Department is committed to encouraging attorneys of diverse backgrounds to become
involved in all aspects of the LSBA.
