ALL advertisements and unsolicited communications-exempt and non-exempt-must be compliant
with the Rules, or the lawyer risks potential professional discipline.

Exemot and Comoliant
A list of advertisements/communications that are "exempt" from the filing requirement can be
found in Rule 7.8. It should be noted, ofcourse, that "exempt" does not necessarily mean
"compliant" with the Rules "exempt" means merely that the Rules do not require filing with the
LSBA but still impose upon the individual lawyer the obligation to reasonably ensure compliance
with the Rules.

Lawver Advertisins Filins

Please note that an advertisement/communication is not considered "filed" until it has been actually
received and "clocked-in" by LSBA Ethics Counsel, i.e., the date an item is placed within the mail
to be sent to the LSBA generally does not constitute the date of "filing." Please note, also, that
"filings" are NOT accepted via email or fax.

To be "concurrent", a "filing" must be received by the LSBA no later than the date offirst
use/dissemination ofthe advertisement/communication (i.e., typically, received by the LSBA on the
same day as first use/dissemination).

Filing Fees:
Payable to " Louisiana State Bar Association", for EACH separate/distinct
advertisement/communication.

Filed at least 30 days prior to first use/dissemination

Regular Filings
$175.00
Filed prior to or concurrent with first use/dissemination

Late Filings
$275.00
Filed after first use/dissemination

New Lawyer Discounted Filings:
Members admitted to the LSBA for less than three (3) years AND not affrliated with a frrm of 5 or
more lawyers are eligible for a discounted liling fee of$100.00 for each separate advertisement or
unsolicited written communication filed prior to or concurrent with first use/dissemination. Late
fitings for eligible new lawyers will be assessed an additionai $100.00 late fee (for a total filing fee
of $200.00) [effective I 1 I 1 1 12022].

Pre-File Online
Pre-filing online allows members of the LSBA to generate their Lawyer Advertising Application
Packet and obtain their filing number.
