● Make few modifications to Static Flaying Frame (SFF),
disseminate models in other provinces & institutionalize
In 2020, Upscaling Static Flaying Frame (SFF) Technology for
Improvement of Hides and Skins Quality was successfully
implemented under the leadership of Mongolian Association of
Leather Industry and MoFALI in partnership with AUO, RDILI and
ARMONO (current Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Research
and Development Center of Excellence) and two in-class and
practical training in Khovd and Ulaanbaatar for total of 60
participants. So far 6 out of 10 SFF models were installed and
provided to the counterparts. The remaining 4 models have been
under construction, however, due to the sudden COVID 19 lockdown
of nationwide All-Out emergency regime, the construction work is
st
postponed to 1 quarter of 2021.
Based on MoFALI and MALI’s request the zero-defect hides and
skins flaying SFF models were modified in cooperation with MALI
and AUO engineers, reconstructed and tested during slaughtering
season and the improved hides and skins will be purchased by
tanneries. MoFALI incorporated this work in its policy and incentive
system as well plans to invest to expand this work nationally by
Activity 2.4.1.3: Provide
pilot training on hides and producing 200 more SFF models. Upscaling experiment in one of the
skins and improve good biggest abattoirs in Mongolia proved that small and big SFFs can be
decent work practice. adopted not only in small abattoirs but also in medium sized
abattoirs.
The following documents package including newly approved
Mongolian National Standard (MNS standard) was prepared by
MALI and handed over to MoFALI:
i) Technical report by sub-contractor MALI, 2020
ii) Leather. Hide and skins flaying general requirement: MNS
6870:2020
iii) Maintenance, Instruction, and Safety manuals for SFF
iv) 3D schematic drawings of improved small and big SFF
vi) Two eLearning courses are in process of development:
“Working at Height”, “Using SFF for animal slaughtering and
flaying”. https://learning.armonocorporation.mn/
● The international expert Mr. Viswanathan Munusamy has been
