Unfortunately, feel is a very difficult thing to quantify. Ask
virtually any golfer where they feel the club stop at the top of
the backswing and then show them a video of where it stops.
The golfer will invariably say that their swing feels shorter
than it is. If you rely on feel you will need a great deal of
talent to adapt to the day-to-day changes in your body that
can affect the way you feel.
There are several critical elements in a good grip. They are
listed below along with some of the problems that occur if they
are not strictly adhered to.
When the left hand is placed on the club, the following
elements should be in place:
The shaft of the club should line up with
the left arm.
If the shaft points to the left of the
left hip, the hand will probably be
rotated too far to the right.
