Tying the same knot on top of itself over and over doesn’t
necessarily make it better or stronger. A properly tied knot
is simple and elegant. It performs its job easily and is often
easy to untie.
You wouldn’t use a spoon to cut a steak because you know
it’s not the right tool for the job. Keep this analogy in mind
when you are deciding which knot to use for the job you
want it to do. Every time you tie a knot, take a second and
ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish by tying it in
the first place. This will help you decide what knot is most
appropriate for the particular application.
