Discuss:
1. Was it easy or difficult for you to think about the things you are
good at and the things you would like to be better at?
2. Did you remind your partner of his/her strengths that you thought
had been forgotten by him/her?
3. Do we see ourselves the way others see us?
4. Did your partner and you show respect to each other when you
shared your lists? How did it feel?
5. Do you think that it is easy to show respect to others when you feel
good about yourself? Why?
Self-respect: When you can continue to feel good about yourself whether or not others
respect you.
Exercise and Discuss:
Treating others with respect makes our world a nicer place to live in. All you need to do is
to treat others the way you would like them to treat you.
Given below are some ideas on how to do this:
• Don’t tease or insult people.
• Listen to others when they speak.
• Ask before taking or using someone else’s things.
Form groups. Think of as many things as you can to add to the list. This time complete
the sentence by adding ‘because’ and thinking about how you would feel if others treated
you that way.
For example: Don’t tease or insult people because I don’t like being insulted or teased.
