1. How did you feel when you said that and heard all the other students say it?

2. Why do you think people feel proud while saying the name of their country?

3. How do you think Indians felt when India became a free country on August 15, 1947?

Look up the meaning of the word ‘patriotic’. Do you remember feeling ‘patriotic’ when you
watched a film, read a book or watched a sport? What made you feel that way? Write about
it. Share with the class.

Paired Exercise:

In pairs, write down the lyrics of the Indian National Anthem
‘Jana Gana Mana’.
