UP AND AWARE - 6

Design a flag for your country. You can choose colours other than the ones in our tricolour.
Explain what each colour that you have chosen stands for. Describe the emblem chosen by
you, if any.

Spotlight:

Together, the colours and words remind us to respect life and human beings.

A person who studies flags is a vexillologist and a person who designs flags is a
vexillographer. A person who simply likes, admires or enjoys flags is a vexillophile.

Exercise and Discuss:

Think of three places that you have visited or travelled to (in India), apart from your native
place. Do you remember the food you ate, the places you went to (religious/monuments/

parks), people you met, languages you heard, clothes you saw people wearing, types of
houses, etc.?
Write down some of the things that were new to you in each place.
