In this input, students are expected to write a paragraph that reflects their
knowledge and experiences about their own cultures. The paragraph can be:
Bebales nae is a wedding process in the Sasak community. It is done after the
prcess of Nyongkolan. In Bebales nae process, the groom‘s family comes to the
Bridge‘s family. The process of Bebales nae for Sasak community has cultural
values to tie the two new families. It mirrors that the bridegroom is ready to build
a new family. These sentences will be used as supporting paragraph to a topic
sentence of a paragraph. It is the same with the comparing phase in which students
are given a list of word that can be utilized in the paragraphs.
In this phase, students are provided with exercises to achieve the objective.
One of the exercises established by students is the jumbled paragraph in which
students reorganize the order paragraph based on the topic sentences given.
Students are asked to form groups in order that students are able to share their
knowledge and skills in creating sentences into a paragraph. The product of this
phase is a number of sentences that are later used as supporting details in
paragraphs. The sentences, of course, relate to each other.
A Malay wedding has two processes: the akad nikah and bersanding.
Noticing
While a Lombok wedding has six processes: kidnaping, nuntut wali,
akad nikah, nyelabar, nyongkolan, and bebales nae. A Malay wedding

Kidnaping should be done by Terune Sasak.
The nuntut wali sometimes becomes a crucial issue in wedding process
in Sasak community.
Sasak people must care of the Bebales nae.
Reflecting Bebales nae is a process done after Nyongkolan in the Sasak wedding
traditions.
The groom‘s family comes to the bridge‘s family.
It has cultural values to tie the two new families.
It mirrors the bridegroom is ready to build a new family.
In conclusion, the reflecting stage is aimed for students enable to reflect
their sense of experiences after they compare their own culture and the target
culture that they have done in comparing stage. This phase is directed for students
