reviser tulisannya sendiri dan tulisan temannya di kelas..‖. L2 claimed that
students must be functioned as a reviser in writing classes. Each student must
revise her/his writing her/himself in classes.
b. Corrector
Students played a role as a corrector in the classes. Students were required
to correct the writing of other students in classes. The correcting process was
conducted in groups and in pairs. Students corrected the sentences, supporting
sentences, and paragraph arrangement. The revision processes were focused not
only in the grammars, spellings, vocabularies, and mechanics but also in contents
and organization of texts resulted. In stages of the IBLL model, students did
correction of the content of texts dealing with reflecting the cultural values of
wedding tradition (such a Kawin Lari tradition). In discussing time, a student
corrected the statement of which the wedding tradition must be suited with
Islamic law. The other student responded the statement respectively.
This role as a corrector was concentrated not only in contents and
organization of the produced texts. For instance, some students wrote an
introductory paragraph of descriptive such a body of text in descriptive texts and
the other students commented to be corrected because the text was not an
introductory paragraph of descriptive text. Besides that, students gave correction
in a text containing wedding cultures that have different meanings and values in
the other students‘ perspectives. Because of this, the class discussion happened in
this situation. Therefore, this role was purposed to invite all students to be active
learners during the learning processes.
Students, as a corrector in writing classes, are directed by lecturer to
correct the other students‘ writing in classes. Based on the interview with some
writing lecturers, they indicated that the students‘ role as corrector in writing
classes was appropriate. For example, L5 said that ―…mahasiswa menulis dan
mengoreksi tulisannya agar mereka tau dimana letak salahnya..‖. L5 claimed that
students write their writing and they correct themselves. As a corrector, students
will learn where they do errors and mistypes.
