c. Drafter
The IBLL model required students as a drafter before they wrote what they
understand. In practice, the lecturer directed students to draft what information
they got from the stages of the IBLL model. Lecturers presented some cultural
topics to be noticed by students. When the lecturer displayed the topics, students
in groups and in pairs established some drafts dealing with the topics such as a
wedding tradition and ICT developments. For instance, in noticing processes,
students did drafting processes based on the cultural topics discussed in classes.
Students drafted the information in forms of sentences, supporting sentences, and
paragraphs.
To help students in practice, lecturers provided students the various
jumbled sentences to be arranged into the correct order. Students were asked to
add its sentences in order to be a complete paragraph. In pairs, students discussed
the drafts they made in order to be complete drafts. In discussing times, lecturer
direct students to compare the content of their drafts each other. The final drafts
would be going to revision and correction processes.
As a drafter, students are supposed to show their drafts to be revised and
corrected in classes. The students‘ role as drafter expedited students to arrange
their writing before presenting it in front of the class. In making complete
descriptive texts, students drafted the introductory paragraph, a body of text, and
the conclusion paragraph. Based on the interview with writing lecturers, they
indicated that students‘ role as a drafter streamlined students to finish the writing
processes in classes. For instance, L4 said that ―…mahasiswa membuat draf
tulisan tentang apa yang mau ditulis,…karena ini memudahkan mereka untuk
menyelesaikan tulisannya…‖. L4 claimed that with making drafts, students feel
easy to finish their writing in classes. Lecturer can help students to manage their
time to complete the writing tasks with making drafts first. Based on this,
researcher enacted the students‘ role as a drafter in the IBLL model.
d. Presenter
Students‘ role as a presenter was important part in implementing the IBLL
model. One of stages of the model was presenting. Students presented the
complete descriptive texts and exposition texts in front of classes. Presenting the
